In a unexpected collaboration that breaks traditional expectations, the game developer has unveiled an in-game crossover between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising holiday event operates from November 25 through December 22, including complimentary extra story content for Shadows players.

Peculiar Mission Disclosed

According to the formal statement, "A mysterious confrontation draws heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a original mission, where rumors of prohibited ceremonies and fearsome metamorphoses reverberate through the darkness." The plot introduces a "oddly garbed woman named Ada" who assigns the characters with traveling into the Gemstone Grotto—a important location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her friend from a secret group.

The questline concentrates on "strange tests and a fearsome adversary" and is available to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.

Recognizable Settings and Transformations

The preview highlights the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This important location was earlier where the Reiss royal family transmitted the Founding Titan ability through eras. The preview ends with a powerful scene showing a character, presumably the hostage, morphing into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.

Exclusive Prizes and Extra Content

Players who finish the quest will obtain an exclusive katana together with multiple objects concealed throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also features premium Attack on Titan item packs, including:

• Titan-themed outfit for Yasuke
• Mikasa outfit for Naoe
• Exclusive weapons
• Survey Corps mount

Newest Free Story Addition

This patch also adds the game's third no-cost story content, titled "The Mystery." This lighthearted mission teams Naoe and Yasuke as they trade distinctive abilities: Naoe reveals a performative interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke acquires non-fatal stealth takedowns. Loyal to its name, "The Mystery" also contains a fresh environmental puzzle that may finally shed light on some unresolved questions from the main storyline.

This represents not the initial time the Assassin's Creed franchise has partnered with well-known anime properties. The series formerly showcased a 2020 collaborative story linking Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga. Furthermore, Valhalla informally included a quest that obviously echoed the popular series One-Punch Man.
